2011 MTV VMA: And the Winners are…

Berbekalkan dengan 10 pencalonan, penyanyi yang berasal dari California, Katy Perry membuktikan bahawa 2011 adalah tahun tuahnya. Pada malam penganugerahan 2011 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) itu, Perry membawa pulang 3 ‘moonmen’ menerusi 2 single hitsnya – Fireworks & E.T. Video untuk lagu ‘Fireworks‘ dipilih sebagai ‘Video of the Year‘ menewaskan calon-calon lain antaranya Adele (Rolling In the Deep), Beastie Boys (Make Some Noise), Bruno Mars (Grenade) dan Tyler, the Creator (Yonkers).

Manakala kolaborasi Perry dengan Kanye West menerusi ‘E.T.‘ membenarkan mereka memenangi kategori ‘Best Collaboration‘ dan ‘Best Special Effects in a Video‘.

Turut menjadi perhatian malam itu adalah penyanyi British, Adele yang menerima 3 anugerah, kesemuanya dalam bidang teknikal. Video muzik ‘Rolling In the Deep‘ merupakan video yang paling banyak menerima pencalonan tahun ini (7) dianugerahkan dengan ‘Best Art Direction in a Video‘, ‘Best Editing in a Video‘, dan ‘Best Cinematography in a Video‘.
